The Council regulates the practice of engineering in Ghana. I develop and maintain its public web platform, ship new features alongside the internal teams, and handle the security and infrastructure work behind it. When I'm not designing websites or building web and mobile applications, I'm in the studio doing some basic 3d modelling and animations. Here are a few of the models I did for the Ghana Project, a personal project to highlight beautiful tourist destinations in Ghana through 3d art.
I am a web developer and designer in Accra, Ghana. I started building things for clients in 2019 and have not really stopped since. These days I am IT Officer at the Engineering Council of Ghana, and I take on a small number of outside projects at a time so each one gets proper attention.
What I enjoy most is the part after launch. Anyone can hand over a site. Staying with it while it grows, watching what real people actually do with it and fixing the things that quietly annoy them, is where the work gets interesting.
Away from the screen I read constantly and I make music, which is where most of my sense of timing and composition comes from. I also spend more hours than I should in Blender, modelling and animating things nobody asked for. That habit turns out to be useful far more often than you would expect.
Alongside the web practice I annotate and translate language data for natural language processing research in African languages. I am a listed contributor to AfriSenti, a benchmark sentiment dataset presented at AfricaNLP 2023, and I have worked on Google's cross lingual question answering project and with the Masakhane Research Foundation on Twi language resources.
